our story

Working to Strengthen Families

Cox Behavioral Health Group LLC was established approximately twelve years ago by a group of seasoned mental health and substance abuse professionals to fill major gaps in behavioral services in Northeast Florida. Our motto is “Working to Strengthen Families,” and it becomes operational through offering comprehensive mental health and substance abuse evaluations and treatment for youth, adolescents, and adults.

Holistic Approach

We provide therapies that specifically address both mental and substance use disorders simultaneously thereby avoiding having to seek mental health treatment from one provider and substance abuse from another organization. The treatment team is cross trained to integrate mental health and substance abuse intervention in counseling sessions. This approach has produced better outcomes for our clients at half the cost.

Inclusive Practices

Cox Behavioral Health Group aims to provide inclusive treatment opportunities for all ages and genders. We offer ATSA clinically approved psychosexual evaluations and treatment for both youth and adult offenders through its Building Boundaries Program. Certified clinicians conduct gender specific services such as empowering females, overcoming victim status, and trauma informed services for youth men and women.

Increased Care

All team members hold master degrees in the counseling field from accredited colleges and universities and are licensed by the state of Florida. Two also hold Ph.D degrees with specializations in Community Psychiatry and Clinical Sexology. We are centrally located within Jacksonville – Duval County. We accept major credit cards and provide complete documentation for individuals to submit to insurance carriers for reimbursement.

We hear. We empathize. We Feel. We Care.
